A Special Education Unit operates in the school. The Unit is designated for:
· Intellectual Impairment (II)
· Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
· Speech Language Impairment (SLI)
However, the Unit also supports students with Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment and Physical Impairment. The Unit runs on a maximised integration policy and Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are developed, monitored and reviewed for each student working in the Unit. Students are supported in classes and in designated withdrawal times:
Year 8 students are withdrawn from LOTE
Other Year Levels students are withdrawn from one line of their timetable (this is negotiated)
Support may also include but is not necessarily limited to:

· Subject modification (including assessment) where appropriate
· Test reading assistance where necessary
· Assistance with organisational/personal skills
