Victoria Point State High School is fortunate to be in partnership with The Beyond the Broncos Girls Academy again this year. The new and exciting 2017 program includes representatives from the Queensland Firebirds and was launched at VPSHS last week by Broncos legend Scott Prince, League Nation Live regular guest and Australian Rep Bo de la Cruz and dynamic Firebird Jemma Mi Mi.

The program values and emphasises the vital role that young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women play in influencing the next generation, and provides culturally-based support for these future leaders to succeed at school and beyond. Broncos Student Support Officer Aunty Robyn Lucas works directly within VPSHS and the community to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to achieve their full potential. Girls from Years 7 – 12 are invited to enrol in the program and will participate in workshops each term about culture, lifestyle and developing future career pathways. The program offers students excellent incentives and opportunities. We are looking forward to another successful year working with The Beyond the Broncos Girls Program and new partners, the Queensland Firebirds.
