REVISED CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL DATE: Tuesday 18 April (Day 1, Term 2)

3/04/2017

On Tuesday 18 April (Day 1, Term 2) Victoria Point SHS will be holding its rescheduled Inter-House Cross Country Carnival in and around the school grounds (after weather-related school closure forced the carnival to be postponed on its original Term 1 date). In an effort to minimise disruptions to timetabled classes on this day, the Mini-Games component of this carnival will not be held.

As per any school day, all students are expected to attend so as not to miss important timetabled curriculum classes prior to the afternoon carnival where they will be supporting their House and participating in their age group event. The appropriate procedures (school contact, forwarding of medical certificates etc.) should be followed if your student is absent on this school day.

On this day the timetable will be altered as follows:

The school canteen is available during Morning Tea and Lunch, as per any other school day. However, students are also encouraged to bring their own food and drink (preferably water) as well.  As there is only limited shade at the venue, we strongly encourage students to bring their hat and sunscreen.

Students are permitted to wear house colours. However, students will be required to travel to school in their FULL SPORT UNIFORM. At Lunch, they will be able to change into APPROPRIATE clothing (MUST fully cover the back, stomach and shoulders – suitable shorts and footwear included). Male and female running clothing MUST be appropriate. Students risk being excluded from carnival proceedings if they do not meet these dress expectations.

Aerosols (e.g. hairspray) as well as paint are NOT permitted to be applied at school. Those students who choose not to comply with these standards and are found to be carrying these items at school risk exclusion from the carnival with possible follow up consequences. Poor behaviour and wilful property damage/vandalism occurring at school and outside the grounds will also be dealt with severely.

Looking forward to running our way into Term 2!
