Wow, what a great group of students we have this year! Everyone was on task, eager to learn, used lovely manners, worked cooperatively as a team and participated fully throughout the whole day.  Paul Mills was very impressed with the enthusiasm and team work shown by the students.

The workshop was a rich and engaging learning experience that kept the students occupied and challenged all day.  Paul Mills instructed the students in operating the Tricaster Vision Switcher, auto-cue and reading from the auto-cue and green screen fun and manipulation.  Each student had the opportunity to take on roles in-front of the camera, as well as behind the scenes such as: news reader, reporter, producer, director, floating heads.

I think all the students walked away with a new appreciation of creating news programs and the skills that go into making everything flow and look seamless.

This is feedback from some students about the day:

"Today was fun, I liked working with the Tricaster" - NH

"Today was awesome and I liked everything about it" - BP

"I loved how we got to act like news reporters because I found that a lot of fun" - Jackson

"I had a lot of fun with the news videos and the mixing.  I loved the news the most" - Candi

"I loved making the videos.  I found it really fun.  I also loved working with the other students of the Academy" KL

"I loved doing all the news reports and being in them.  I also liked being behind the scenes.  I just loved the whole day!" - Amy

Paul will be coming back later in the year to work with the students, it will be interesting to see the improvements that the students will have made in handling equipment and confidence in-front of and behind the scenes.  Many thanks to Paul Mills for conducting the workshop and James Exelby for mentoring the students.  What a fabulous day of learning.
