As we head into the second half of Term 1, the school swimming season (action packed but short in length) begins to draw to a close. It kicked off with a bang on Friday 6 February at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre, which hosted our school’s Annual Inter-House Swimming Carnival.

This one created a little piece of history, as it was the first carnival to include a Year 7 cohort. It proved to be a fantastic day with plenty of student participation, atmosphere and enjoyment. All students can be very proud of their efforts in and out of the pool, as behaviour and attitudes were flawless. This carnival setting also provided a perfect opportunity for our new Senior House Leaders to showcase their leadership, which they certainly did!

House competition was fierce but unfortunately, as official assembly presentations have not taken place yet, the winning house cannot be revealed! Individuals who performed outstandingly on the day, our Age Champions, can however be recognised. Congratulations to 2015 Swimming Age Champions, Jessica Kent (12 Girls), Cody Torkington (12 Boys), Caitlyn Powers-Hughes (13 Girls), Owen Jefferies (13 Boys), Candace Torkington (14 Girls), Corbin Gibbons (14 Boys), Mary-Anne Kossen (15 Girls), Luke Harvey (15 Boys), Tia Baker (16 Girls), Brandon Martin (16 Boys), Nicole Smith (Open Girls) and Luke Bellamy (Open Boys).
