International Women's Day Breakfast
Our School Captains joined Lance Hewlett – local council member and Mel Burke - Head of Department of Student Services on Wednesday morning at the Alexandra Hills Hotel to celebrate International Women’s Day hosted by Soroptimist International Bayside Inc.
This year we commemorate Beijing +20, a global campaign celebrating progress towards gender equality since the landmark Beijing Platform for Action was signed in 1995 by 189 countries.
We were lucky enough to be able to share a hot breakfast while discussing how even though we have come a long way, we still have a long way to go. Beijing + 20 also highlights what still needs to be done, so we don’t have to wait another 20 years to achieve gender equality.
