this year Victoria Point State High School competed in the second annual
School’s Relay Challenge as part of the 48 hour Run for Redlands Charity Relay
held locally at the Sharks Sporting Club. The school entered four teams in the
event. Each team had to run as many laps as they could in a 60 minute race
against the clock. Of course, as a charity event each team was also asked to
make a donation as part of their entry. All funds raised were donated to the
Children’s Ward at the Redlands Hospital and the CAGE (Creating a Good
Environment) youth group.
trophies were awarded on the day – one for the school who completed the most
laps, and another for the school who raised the most funds. Victoria Point
State High School Students did an exceptional job on the afternoon and for the
second successive year were successful in being awarded both perpetual shields.
The students involved should all be very proud of their efforts. We look
forward to returning next year to defend our titles.
students from years 7-12 represented the school proudly, completed over one
hundred laps in the sixty minutes, and were proud to hand over a donation of
just over $450 to the event organisers.
A fantastic effort.
