August the following students represented Victoria Point State High School in
the Queensland Volleyball Schools Cup tournament: Myka Arthur, Olivia Reeves,
Amity Bagnall, Tia Baker, NidaKluengngulueam,
Diana Wang, Jade Ellenger and Kayla Robertson.
The girls played
at the Cornubia Sports Centre against very competitive teams such as Toowoomba
Christian College, St Mary’s College, Hillbrook Anglican School and Chanel
College. Facing a very tough team in our first game Friday night, these girls
didn’t give up! With a very close second set our girls fell short against
Toowoomba Christian College. They then went on to play Moura State High School
where a victory was made from better communication skills and teamwork on the
court. The competition remained high and the girls pushed a game against St
Mary’s College to a tight 3 set match. This was a tough yet fantastic win for
our girls. Another tight match was seen
yet again against Hillbrook Anglican College where the girls fought hard taking
the game to 3 sets. Hillbrook’s control just out did us with very close scores
in the second and third set.
We were so proud
of each and every one of our girls who participated on the weekend – we may
have been exhausted on Monday but we sure did have a great time! Bring on
Volleyball Schools Cup next year!
