Wednesday 1 February, Victoria Point SHS will be holding its annual Inter-House Swimming Carnival at the
Cleveland Aquatic Centre. As always, this year’s carnival is promising to be a
major highlight of the school year full of colour, splashes and a terrific
atmosphere. All students are expected to attend to support their House and
participate in the swimming events. The appropriate procedures (school contact,
forwarding of medical certificates etc.) should be followed if your student is
absent on this school day.
will be travelling to and from the Cleveland Aquatic Centre by bus. Year 10 (New Hut),
11 (Student Centre) and 12 (Performing Arts) students are to meet at Year Level Assembly areas at
8.00am with Year 7 (GLA4), 8 (Old Hut) and 9 (Canteen Area) students to meet at Year Level Assembly areas at 8.40am. Buses will begin departing the school at 8:30am (for
10-12 students) and returning by 3:15pm.
There is NO COST for the carnival and permission forms are to be handed to
Family Group teachers on morning of carnival ONLY
canteen is available at the venue where students can purchase snacks, drinks
and lunch. Students are also encouraged
to bring their own food and drink (preferably water) as well. As there is only limited shade at the venue,
we strongly encourage students to bring their hat and sunscreen. A SUNSCREEN STATION will also be
operational and advertised throughout the day, meaning students will have no
excuse for getting burnt and dehydrated.

these at school or the venue will have them confiscated. Those students
who choose not to comply with these dress and presentation standards risk exclusion
from the carnival with possible follow up consequences. Poor behaviour and wilful
property damage/vandalism occurring at school or the Aquatic Centre will also
be dealt with severely.
