This pathway is designed for students intending to go into employment, TAFE, a traineeship or apprenticeship after school. All students in the QCE pathway are strongly encouraged to incorporate a part-time TAFE course, a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship, or a work placement with their studies in Year 11 and 12. Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs (PDF, 976 KB) give high school students the opportunity to gain nationally recognised trade qualifications. The qualifications also count towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) while completing senior studies at school.
Victoria Point State High School is partner-school of the Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE's (MSIT) Partnership with Schools (PWS) program which allows students to complete a broad range of industry focused vocational qualifications as part of their Year 11 and 12 study program.
Our work placement officer is available at school four days per week to assist students with these opportunities.
